Sony has dropped the price of the US version of the 60GB Playstation 3 by USD 100, in order to better compete against the Nintendo Wii, which is presently outselling the Sony games console.
The Playstation 3, which doubles as a BluRay dvd player, has lost out on market share to the Nintendo’s new reputation as a more fun and interactive games console, given the motion detecting controller which has simplified the new games that are being developed on the Wii. These Wii games have also been planned for interaction between up to 4 people, which adds to their ability to jazz up and add a fun element to any gathering of friends or family.
Sony is also planning a 80GB version of the playstation 3. However, it looks as if they ould be better off concentrating on developing games to enhance that fun and entertainment factor.
